“No Change is Permanent, but change is.”
I have been repeating this quote in my head all morning.
Change is sitting in our house today.
Change is a friend.
A well known character in our play.
It comes and it goes like a teenager.
It stops and listens
like the ear of a gossip queen.
It knows when to leave-
finding the front door,
sometimes an open window.
Quiet as a fallen feather or as loud as a white water stream.
Change is birth and death-
reborn the second it disolves.
I sometimes close my eyes in
hope that it is merely an apparition
though deep down we all know that its presence is what makes up our very life.
CHANGE sits in the fleeting time that we find ourselves living every day
the moment we OPEN to it
is the moment we CHANGE
you can’t run
you can’t hide
you can’t talk yourself out of its eveloping hands
you have to go to CHANGE like you would go to your mother
with an OPEN heart hoping it LOVES you
as much as you want to love it.
